Note: This is a general privacy policy. If the App handles personal health information, additional obligations (such as HIPAA in the U.S. or provincial health-privacy law in Canada) may apply — review with a lawyer.

This Privacy Policy describes how Shannon Chowdhury (“PillCount,” “we,” “us”) handles information in connection with the PillCount mobile app (the “App”).

1. Information We Collect

Images you capture. The App uses your device camera to capture images of pills/objects for counting. All image processing for counting takes place on your device. We do not upload, store, or transmit the images you capture for counting. Images are not retained by the App or by us after the count is complete, unless you separately choose to share content (for example, via the in-app feedback form), in which case what you submit is governed by that form.
Account / identifier. The App does not require you to create an account or provide a name, email, or password to use its features. The App may use a locally generated, anonymous identifier to manage your session and free-tier usage.
Subscription data. If you purchase PillCount Pro, billing is handled by Apple, and subscription/entitlement management is handled by our service provider RevenueCat. We receive only limited information needed to verify entitlements (such as an anonymized user identifier and entitlement status), not your full payment details.
Feedback. If you contact us via our feedback form (Google Forms), any information you submit is processed by Google and received by us as configured by that form.
Usage / diagnostics. We do not collect usage analytics, crash data, or telemetry. The App contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

2. How We Use Information

To operate, maintain, and improve the App’s counting features.
To verify subscription entitlements and manage Pro access.
To respond to feedback or support requests.
To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only: (a) with our service providers that support the App (Apple, RevenueCat, Google for forms), each under their own terms; (b) to comply with law; or (c) in connection with a sale or transfer of our business (with confidentiality obligations).

4. Data Retention

Images captured for counting are processed on-device and not retained by us. We retain subscription/entitlement and feedback data only as long as needed for the purposes described, or as required by law.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., under Canadian privacy law, GDPR, or U.S. state laws), you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

6. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

8. International Use

If you use the App outside Canada, your information may be processed in Canada and other countries where our providers operate.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will indicate the “Last updated” date above.
