Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is incorporated into and forms part of the PillCount Terms of Use. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meaning given in the Terms. Violating this AUP may result in suspension or termination of your access to the App, in addition to any other remedies.
Permitted use
PillCount is a general-purpose counting and productivity tool. It is provided to help you estimate counts (including pills/medications) using a device camera and automated image recognition. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, and does not replace professional verification.
Your responsibilities
You agree that you will:
- Independently verify every count produced by the App before using it for any purpose that could affect health, safety, dosing, dispensing, billing, inventory, compliance, or any medical or legal decision.
- Not represent App output as verified, certified, audited, or guaranteed accurate to any third party (patient, customer, regulator, auditor, or otherwise) without conducting your own appropriate verification.
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and professional/ethical standards that govern you, including any pharmacy, healthcare, privacy, and consumer-protection requirements.
- Be solely responsible for obtaining any consent needed to capture or store images using the App.
Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Clinical/dosing reliance. Use the App as the sole basis to administer, dispense, withhold, return, recommend, adjust, or ingest any medication, dose, or treatment.
- Misrepresentation. Present App-generated counts or identifications as certified, audited, or guaranteed, or use the App to deceive any patient, customer, partner, insurer, regulator, or authority.
- Unsafe contexts. Use the App in life-critical, time-critical, or high-risk settings where an incorrect count could foreseeably cause injury or harm.
- Harmful content. Use the App to facilitate the manufacture, diversion, misuse, or unlawful distribution of any medication or controlled substance.
- Reverse engineering / abuse. Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, scrape, crawl, probe, or otherwise attempt to extract source code, models, or underlying data, or to bypass any security, rate-limit, or entitlement control.
- Automated abuse. Use bots, scripts, or automated means to access the App beyond normal human use, or to overload/disrupt the App or its third-party providers (Apple, RevenueCat, Google).
- Interference. Interfere with the proper functioning of the App, introduce malicious code, or impair any other user’s use.
- Unauthorized access. Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, data, or another user’s information.
- Infringement / unlawful use. Use the App to infringe anyone’s rights or to violate any law, regulation, or third-party agreement.
- Resale. Resell, sublicense, lease, or rent access to the App except as expressly permitted by the Terms.
AI-specific warnings
Because the App relies on machine-learning image recognition:
- Results can be wrong even when they appear confident.
- The model may confuse visually similar items, including different medications.
- Accuracy depends on image conditions and may degrade without warning.
- You, not PillCount, are responsible for detecting and correcting errors in App output.
Enforcement
We may investigate violations and take action at our sole discretion, including warning, suspending, restricting, or terminating access, and pursuing legal or equitable remedies. We may cooperate with law enforcement or regulators when required or permitted.
Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time; continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
